"THAIger Soldiers in the Secret War in Laos" is a translation of the Thai book "2503 Secret War Laos War" by General (Ret.) Bunchon focusing mainly on eyewitness reports of former Thai soldiers, dubbed "Tiger Soldiers," who fought during the Secret War in Laos. In the late 1960s, Thailand covertly sent troops to fight against the North Vietnamese and the communist faction of the Laotian government, the Lao Patriotic Front, in the Kingdom of Laos. The aim was to prevent the spread of communism towards Thailand. The United States believed that if Laos were to fall under communist rule, the entirety of Southeast Asia would eventually become communist.

Therefore, the United States, via the CIA, supported Thailand's operations in Laos by providing finances, training, and weaponry to the covert Thai fighters consisting of police forces ("PARU") and "Tiger Soldiers". This war, politically and ideologically complex, led to battles that solidified the legacy of the police forces and the "Tiger Soldiers" of Thailand, albeit late, as the country kept it a secret to prevent international disputes. This book is written from a purely Thai perspective with unique Thai sources, which allows international readers to understand the Thai perceptions about this secret war, its intricacies, and its conception.
